Staying calm before results day!

After months of hard work and nights watching the moon as you do your revision late into the night, the CIMA case study exams are finally over for May! How do you feel? Excited for your result or anxious and fearing the worse? If it's the former, then great! We are sure that you will all get the result you deserve and enjoy the celebrations that will soon follow. But what happens if you are feeling a little nervous? We have some tips that may just help...

It's natural to walk out of an exam and feel a mixture of emotions. Some of you may be ready to hide all of your materials away and never see them again. You may even feel a little sad that it's all over! You may also feel a little twinge of worry, knowing that the result of all your dedicated CIMA work is only going to be revealed in a months time. If you let this feeling of unease take control of you, this could bloom into full blown worry - which could be over nothing! In order to stop this happening, here are some tips:

1). Relaxation Techniques. There are a number of things you can try to make yourself feel better. This article details all of the different relaxation techniques you can try, including yoga, tai chi and meditation:

2). Distract yourself as much as you can. This is a great tip if you are feeling worried about your CIMA result. If you find that your thoughts are wandering back to the day when you will be opening up that envelope, catch yourself and do something else! This could be going for a walk, playing a board game with friends or reading a book. If you find that you can't stop thinking about this at work, for example, try and go for a brisk walk round the block to clear your head. This article is a great start to living in the moment:

3). Exercise. There are so many different ways to get moving - and we would recommend them all! It's a great way to get rid of any energy you have, that is being spent on worrying. Try this list of different sports, to get you started on any ideas - this could be the start of a new hobby!

4). Less caffeine. This could be a controversial one, as many students often find themselves drinking coffee throughout the Twilight hours when they are studying for CIMA. However, research has shown that those who drink caffeine are less likely to feel anxious! There are many different sources of caffeine, but also many different alternatives.
